Refund policy
Refunds, plainly.

Every Zawaaj upgrade is a one-time charge scoped to a single invitation. If something goes wrong — or you simply change your mind early on — you can request a refund. We process honestly and without hoops.
The window
You can request a refund within 7 days from the purchase date OR up to the earliest event date on the invitation, whichever is sooner. The event date is snapshotted at purchase time, so moving an event date later does not extend the refund window.
Practical examples:
- Bought a premium template on Monday, wedding is in two weeks — you can request a refund up to Sunday (7 days).
- Bought a premium template on Monday, wedding is on Thursday — you can request a refund up to Wednesday (the day before the earliest event).
- Bought a premium template on Monday, wedding was scheduled for Saturday and you later move it to the following Saturday — the refund window still closes the original Friday, not the new one.
How to request
- Open the dashboard for the invitation the charge belongs to.
- Go to Settings → Payments.
- Find the row for the charge, click Request refund, and tell us why in a short note.
- We review and process via Dodo Payments. The refund usually settles in 5–10 business days, depending on your bank or UPI provider.
Once Dodo confirms the refund, the related entitlement is revoked on the invitation server-side. You will see the refund reflected on the same Payments row.
What gets revoked, what stays
Most refunds are clean — you bought one unlock, you refund it, the unlock comes off. The bundled SKUs are slightly nuanced because the premium font pairings stay yours after the refund (sticky-gift convention).

The sticky-font rule, explained
When a host buys a premium template (or a bundle that includes one), the premium font pairings come with it. If they later refund the template, the unlocked fonts stay.
Why: the fonts were the bundled gift, not the purchase. Yanking them on a refund would feel petty, and the host effectively already lived with those fonts on their invitation for the brief window they had it. We’d rather keep the relationship warm.
Refunding a standalone Custom font unlock(₹100) does revoke the fonts — that’s the direct exchange, no bundling involved.
Partial refunds
We don’t support selective partial refunds today. If you bought the Wedding Bundle and only want, say, the URL refunded, we’d need to refund the whole bundle and have you re-purchase the parts you want to keep. Reach out to support@zawaaj.inif this applies to you and we’ll figure out the cleanest path.
Disputes & chargebacks
If something feels wrong, please contact us at support@zawaaj.infirst. Most issues are easier to fix that way. Filing a chargeback or dispute through your bank without contacting us first may result in immediate revocation of the related entitlement and account suspension while the dispute is open. Once Dodo’s dispute process resolves, we restore or revoke entitlements based on the outcome.
Refunds after the window closes
Outside the window we don’t auto-refund. If something material went wrong — a feature didn’t work, an event was cancelled, a venue fell through — write to us at support@zawaaj.inwith context. We review case by case. We’d rather make it right than hide behind policy.
Account closure
Closing your account doesn’t refund past charges by itself — it only stops future ones. Payment audit rows are retained indefinitely under Indian tax + finance regulations even after account deletion. See the Privacy Policy for the full retention picture.
